Lecturer in Geological Engineering – BIUST Campus

About the role

The University seeks a qualified Lecturer in Geological Engineering to join the BIUST Campus in Palapye. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and postgraduate students, contribute to research, and support the development of the department.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lectures, tutorials and labs for undergraduate and postgraduate courses in geological engineering, soil and rock mechanics.
• Administer teaching activities, design curricula and provide module or course leadership.
• Supervise research projects and graduate students.
• Develop a national reputation through research publications and professional service.
• Prepare and submit research proposals and funding applications.

Required profile

• BEng, MEng and PhD in Geological Engineering or Geosciences with a focus on soil or rock mechanics.
• Demonstrated teaching experience or relevant industrial experience.
• Evidence of research output, publications and involvement in professional or community projects.
• Understanding of higher‑education environments and research methodology.
• Strong communication skills for presenting complex concepts to diverse audiences.
