Senior Industrial Relations Specialist

About the role

Redpath Botswana is seeking a Senior Industrial Relations Specialist to support the Jwaneng Underground Project. The role will be part of the Human Resources team, reporting to the HR Manager, and will focus on managing employee relations, union interactions and ensuring compliance with Botswana employment legislation.

Key responsibilities

• Provide advice and support to managers and employees on disciplinary actions, grievances, workplace conflict and performance management.
• Lead thorough, unbiased investigations into employee relations matters and ensure timely resolution.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for employees on workplace issues, handling concerns fairly and in line with legislation.
• Monitor changes in employment law and update company policies to maintain legal compliance.
• Review, develop and implement employee policies in accordance with employment legislation.
• Coach and support managers in difficult conversations and improving team dynamics.

Required profile

• Degree in Business, Human Resource Management, Industrial Relations, Employment Law or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 6‑10+ years of experience in workplace, industrial, employee relations or HR, preferably in blue‑collar environments.
• Demonstrated experience managing union relationships and ensuring consistent employee treatment.
• Proven ability to give credible advice to a diverse range of stakeholders.
