Electrical Superintendent

About the role

The Electrical Superintendent will lead the safe, reliable and efficient operation, maintenance and improvement of the mine’s electrical and utility infrastructure. This position ensures that critical support services and fixed‑plant systems remain available to sustain mining, processing and site operations.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain fixed‑plant equipment, facilities and oversee an electrical team of supervisors.
• Develop and manage budgets, cost estimates, forecasts and capital‑expenditure requests.
• Define electrical equipment scopes, evaluate tenders and implement quality‑management plans.
• Implement and maintain a Centralised Maintenance Management System and related procedures.
• Analyse equipment performance, condition monitoring data and evaluate maintenance program effectiveness.
• Develop quality‑assurance and inspection procedures, and enforce service‑level agreements for maintenance contracts.
• Manage strategic spares inventory to ensure ongoing availability of critical parts.
• Investigate equipment failures and create action plans to eliminate repetitive breakdowns.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant electrical engineering experience.
• Registered with the Engineers Registration Board of Botswana.
• Experience in electrical infrastructure projects, upgrades and technical improvements.
• Senior High Voltage Switching qualification or awareness training is an advantage.
