Light Vehicle Mechanic

About the role

The Light Vehicle Mechanic is responsible for ensuring that all light vehicles used in mining operations are safe, reliable and well‑maintained. Working on‑site, you will diagnose issues, perform repairs and support the overall fleet management strategy. You will work closely with the operations team to minimise vehicle downtime and support continuous production.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out routine service and preventive maintenance on light vehicles.
• Diagnose mechanical faults and execute appropriate repairs.
• Maintain compliance with workplace safety standards and regulations.
• Keep accurate service records and report any recurring issues.
• Assist in fleet management activities and contribute to maintenance planning.
• Perform emergency repairs to minimise vehicle downtime.

Required profile

• National Craft Certificate in Auto Mechanics or a Diploma in Automotive Engineering (or equivalent qualification).
• Minimum of 4 years experience as a light‑vehicle or automotive mechanic.
• Prior experience in the mining industry is preferred.
• Ability to work safely in a high‑hazard mining environment.
