Registered Nurse – Oncology (Experienced)

About the role

The Registered Nurse will deliver both direct and indirect nursing care to oncology patients at Bokamoso Private Hospital. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, executing, and supervising patient care to meet individual needs, while ensuring high standards of clinical practice.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation that reflects all aspects of patient care.
• Conduct careful assessment and continuous monitoring of patient progress to detect any sudden or subtle changes in medical condition.
• Work long hours as needed, providing care for acutely and chronically ill oncology patients on a daily basis.
• Calculate dosages and administer medications safely and in accordance with prescribed protocols.
• Stay updated with current research and development activities within the organization to incorporate best practices.
• Respect and uphold patient rights throughout the delivery of care.

Required profile

• Hold a Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from an approved institution.
• Possess a minimum of two years’ experience working as a Registered Nurse, preferably in an oncology setting.
• Hold a valid Nursing Practicing Licence issued by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Botswana.
• Demonstrate computer literacy and basic proficiency with standard office software.

Required skills

• Proficiency in medication administration, including dosage calculation and safe delivery.
• Computer literacy with ability to use basic healthcare information systems.
