Senior Advisor – Stakeholder & China Relations

About the role

The Senior Advisor – Stakeholder & China Relations leads all stakeholder communications and China‑relations strategy for Khoemacau Copper Mining (KCM). Reporting to senior leadership, the incumbent drives high‑level relationship building with major Chinese shareholders and key diplomatic and industry partners to unlock resources that enhance business performance.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary liaison with core Chinese shareholders (CMC, CMN, CNIC), managing information sharing, translation, and preparation of promotional and reporting materials.
• Plan and execute full‑cycle senior shareholder visits, including agenda design, cross‑department coordination, VIP reception, and post‑event follow‑up.
• Develop and maintain partnerships with Chinese‑linked stakeholders in Botswana and China, such as embassies and enterprise associations.
• Provide Chinese‑English translation and interpretation for reports, documents, and on‑site meetings.
• Oversee facilities management for Chinese expatriate staff in Gaborone, covering company vehicles and residential apartments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Translation, Journalism, Communications, International Relations, Business Administration, Finance or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Minimum 8 years of experience in international relations, stakeholder communications, or a similar discipline.
• Native‑level Mandarin proficiency and fluent professional English.
• Extensive experience drafting official Chinese documents, reports, and corporate publicity for large state‑owned enterprises or government entities.
