Supply Chain Forecasting and Supply Planning Specialist

About the role

Palladium is seeking a motivated Supply Chain Forecasting and Supply Planning Specialist to strengthen Botswana's public health supply chain. The role focuses on ensuring continuous availability of essential medicines, diagnostics, vaccines and other health commodities through data‑driven forecasting and planning.

Key responsibilities

• Lead national commodity forecasting and quantification using consumption, morbidity, demographic and program data.
• Develop and maintain national supply and procurement plans to guarantee commodity availability.
• Analyze supply chain data to monitor stock status, forecast accuracy, inventory performance and pipeline risks.
• Support inventory optimisation and recommend actions to reduce stock‑outs, overstocking, expiries and emergency procurements.
• Prepare technical reports, dashboards and presentations for supply chain decision‑making.
• Strengthen forecasting and supply planning systems through capacity building, stakeholder coordination and continuous improvement.
• Support and enhance digital supply chain information systems such as eLMIS and related platforms.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Public Health, Statistics, Economics, Operations Research or a related field (post‑graduate qualification is a plus).
• Minimum five years of experience in health commodity forecasting, quantification, supply planning or public health supply chain management.
• Experience working with Ministry of Health systems and/or donor‑funded health programmes.
• Strong analytical abilities and excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and report‑writing skills.
