Vice Chancellor

About the role

The Vice Chancellor serves as the chief academic and administrative leader of the university, providing strategic direction to position the institution as a globally recognised centre of excellence in teaching, research and innovation.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure university standards in teaching, learning and research meet the needs of students, staff and society.
• Refine and implement a strategic plan in collaboration with the Council to enhance international standing.
• Promote a collegial culture, support staff development and motivate the university community.
• Provide prudent financial management, budgeting, monitoring and reporting.
• Lead fundraising initiatives and develop collaborative opportunities with government, industry and other partners.

Required profile

• Doctorate degree and full Professor in Science, Technology or Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of teaching and research experience and at least 5 years in a senior executive role within a tertiary institution.
• Proven record in research administration, fundraising and creating collaborative partnerships.
• Strong financial acumen, strategic planning ability and experience working with governing bodies.
• Exceptional problem‑solving, interpersonal and communication skills with high integrity.
