Accountant – Financial Reporting & Analysis

About the role

The Accountant will support the business unit by applying accounting principles, monitoring financial data, and delivering accurate information to aid strategic decisions. This role involves risk identification, compliance, and continuous improvement of accounting processes.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze financial transactions against budgets and forecasts, reporting variances to senior management.
• Maintain accurate records, ensure journal entries are posted correctly, and reconcile the general ledger.
• Prepare month‑end and year‑end reporting packs, supporting schedules, and annual financial statements using Hyperion Financial Management (HFM).
• Identify, control, and escalate potential risks that could increase costs.
• Stay current on legislative changes and GAAP, providing proactive advice to stakeholders.
• Implement and benchmark business processes such as costing models, VAT procedures, and G/L returns.
• Conduct risk assessments and ensure effective remediation.
• Develop professional relationships with internal and external partners.

Required profile

• Part qualification from an internationally recognised body (BICA, ACCA, CIMAA) or a relevant business degree with majors in accounting/finance.
• 3‑5 years of progressive finance and accounting experience; experience in controls or auditing is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in ambiguous, cross‑functional environments.
