Chief Financial Officer (Founding Executive)

About the role

The Oratory League Foundation is seeking a visionary finance leader to join its Executive Committee as the founding Chief Financial Officer. Reporting directly to the Founder & CEO and the Board of Trustees, the CFO will shape the organisation’s global financial strategy and drive sustainable growth across Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement a long‑term financial strategy and capitalisation roadmap for OLF and its subsidiaries.
• Oversee multi‑million pula portfolio accounting, budgeting, forecasting and treasury operations.
• Ensure compliance with statutory authorities, tax obligations and international donor grant reporting requirements.
• Establish internal controls, SOPs and prepare the organisation for internal and external audits.
• Manage high‑level relationships with institutional donors, commercial banks and corporate sponsors.

Required profile

• Full professional accounting qualification (ACCA or equivalent) with a strong academic background.
• 5‑10+ years of executive‑level financial leadership in international NGOs or high‑growth institutions.
• Proven experience managing large, multi‑million pula portfolios and navigating complex regulatory environments.
• Commitment to institutional integrity and African human development.

• Proficiency with cloud‑based accounting systems.
• Advanced financial modelling capabilities.
