Data Center Engineer

About the role

Huawei Botswana is seeking an experienced Data Center Engineer to lead the electrical design and delivery of its data centre projects. The role involves overseeing the full project lifecycle, from site survey to testing and acceptance, ensuring quality, schedule, cost and risk are controlled.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver electrical solutions for data centre projects, including site selection, design drawings, and on‑site technical support.
• Coordinate technical activities during construction, manage design changes, and provide testing and acceptance support.
• Control quality, schedule, cost and risk of project design to meet delivery targets.
• Plan electromechanical products, consolidate requirements, clarify features and develop solutions as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Hands‑on experience with electromechanical products and on‑site management of data centre projects.
• Strong knowledge of data centre electrical architecture, HVAC, intelligent systems, fire protection, building decoration and integrated wiring.
• Excellent communication skills to understand customer needs and explain solutions clearly.
