Data Protection Consultant – Short Term Contract

About the role

Andersen Tax Botswana is seeking a Data Protection Consultant for a short‑term, two‑month engagement. The consultant will help strengthen the firm’s data protection governance, ensuring compliance with Botswana’s Data Protection Act and embedding a privacy‑first culture across all offices.

Key responsibilities

• Improve the design and implementation of data protection policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with Botswana’s Data Protection Act and related regulations.
• Conduct data protection risk assessments and advise leadership on mitigation strategies.
• Provide guidance and training to staff on data privacy standards and best practices.
• Collaborate with leadership to embed a culture of data protection.
• Enhance compliance reporting to leadership and regulators.

Required profile

• Prior experience in data protection within a professional services environment (accounting, legal, tax or consulting preferred).
• Strong knowledge of Botswana’s data protection legislation.
• Proven ability to assist with data protection audits, risk assessments and compliance reviews.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
