Director Finance

About the role

The University seeks a senior finance leader to provide strategic direction and day‑to‑day management of its financial and procurement functions, ensuring integrity, transparency and efficiency across the institution.

Key responsibilities

• Make senior‑level decisions on financial management, reporting and procurement.
• Oversee accurate and timely financial records and ensure compliance with IAS, IFRS and IPSAS standards.
• Guide and develop the finance department staff to achieve departmental goals.
• Manage procurement processes in line with university policies, promoting fairness and competition.
• Ensure optimal use of resources and uphold ethical and accountability standards.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Finance or a related field.
• Professional accountancy certification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW, ICAS, ACPA).
• Minimum 10 years of post‑qualification finance experience, including at least 5 years at Assistant Director level or equivalent.
• Extensive experience in financial planning, reporting, fiscal management, capital projects, risk management and large‑organisation accounting.
• Proficiency with Oracle financial systems.
