Executive Director – Retail Distribution

About the role

The Executive Director – Retail Distribution will sit on the Group Executive Committee and report directly to the Group CEO. Based at the head office in Gaborone, the role carries full accountability for the retail distribution of individual life products, driving sales strategy and delivering revenue growth across the nation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the national sales and distribution strategy for the retail division.
• Own the full P&L, ensuring revenue targets and cost efficiency are met.
• Lead a high‑performance agent network, fostering operational excellence and business continuity.
• Maintain governance standards, delivering clean audit outcomes.
• Monitor and achieve key performance targets such as annual sales volume and persistency rates of 80%+.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of sales leadership experience within a financial services organisation.
• At least 8 years in senior leadership roles in life insurance, investment or banking.
• Proven track record of national distribution management and P&L ownership.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or Marketing.
• Experience presenting and operating at EXCO level.
