Group Technology & Transformation Executive

About the role

The Group Technology & Transformation Executive for Botswana will provide senior leadership for Old Mutual Botswana’s technology, digital, data and transformation agenda. Reporting to the Botswana Group CEO, the role ensures technology supports business strategy, customer experience, operational efficiency and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a country‑wide technology strategy aligned with Old Mutual Limited Group architecture and guardrails.
• Translate business objectives into technology roadmaps, enterprise architecture plans and digital capability frameworks.
• Lead the Botswana IT function, including digital, data, infrastructure and service teams, to deliver stable, secure and resilient services.
• Own the country IT budget and optimise total cost of ownership while ensuring commercial justification.
• Partner with the Executive Committee and Group Technology to prioritise investments, manage vendors and control costs.
• Ensure compliance with Group governance, security, risk management and cyber‑risk standards.
• Drive responsible AI adoption and data governance across the organisation.

Required profile

• Proven executive leadership experience in technology, digital transformation and data management within a large, regulated organisation.
• Strong ability to align technology initiatives with business strategy and to influence senior stakeholders.
• Demonstrated track record of delivering large‑scale transformation programmes and managing complex IT operations.
• Excellent governance, risk and vendor management capabilities.
