KYC Consultant – Fixed-Term (4 months)

About the role

The KYC Consultant will conduct comprehensive Know‑Your‑Customer and client due‑diligence reviews to ensure compliance with anti‑money‑laundering regulations. This fixed‑term position supports client refresh and maintenance processes, mitigates risk, and enables trade by verifying client information accurately and promptly.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct KYC and client due‑diligence reviews to meet AML and regulatory requirements.
• Support client refresh and maintenance, mitigating risk and enabling trade.
• Perform KYC assessments for existing clients and proactively engage them to obtain documentation before review deadlines.
• Maintain accurate client contact details and communication records in CRM and KYC tools.
• Collaborate with client‑group teams, product managers, onboarding specialists, service managers, compliance and legal to resolve complex review issues.
• Apply risk classification, maintain documentation, and act as subject‑matter expert on KYC, AML, FATCA and CRS.
• Communicate with clients to obtain documentation, investigate discrepancies, and ensure data privacy compliance.
• Validate client information, pre‑populate required documentation, and apply quality‑assurance measures.
• Identify opportunities to improve team processes and optimise workflows.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in client onboarding, risk compliance or AML/KYC roles.
• Banking, financial services or regulated‑industry experience is beneficial.
• Understanding of Botswana's financial regulations and the Financial Intelligence Act.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
