About the role

The University seeks a qualified Lecturer in Geological Engineering to join the BIUST Campus in Palapye. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and postgraduate students, conduct research, and contribute to the academic reputation of the department.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lectures and tutorials in Geological Engineering, Soil Mechanics, and Rock Engineering.
• Supervise research projects and graduate theses.
• Develop and administer module or course curricula.
• Publish research findings in reputable journals.
• Prepare proposals for external funding and accreditation.
• Engage in professional service and community outreach.

Required profile

• BEng, MEng and PhD in Geological Engineering or Geosciences with a focus on Soil or Rock Mechanics.
• Demonstrated teaching experience or relevant industrial experience.
• Evidence of research activity, publications, and project involvement.
• Understanding of higher‑education environments and research methodology.
• Strong communication skills for diverse audiences.
