Management Trainer

About the role

The Management Trainer will equip lodge management teams with the knowledge, practical skills and motivation needed to excel in their roles. Working within Wilderness, you will support staff development while upholding company standards, processes and environmental values.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive training to all management staff on lodge operations and job responsibilities.
• Re‑emphasise company minimum standards, policies and procedures through regular training sessions.
• Ensure high hygiene standards are communicated and maintained across all locations.
• Create, compile and distribute teaching materials and training resources.
• Stay current on tourism industry trends and integrate relevant updates into training programs.
• Produce regular training reports, suggest improvement targets and monitor trainee progress.
• Identify training needs, develop and implement training plans for management.
• Oversee assessment procedures, log‑books and data collection to track development.
• Maintain strong internal relations between departments and lodges.
• Assist the Training Manager with recruitment of management trainees and promote the company’s environmental commitments.

Required profile

• Diploma in Hospitality or Tourism Management (or equivalent) from an accredited institute.
• Minimum 5 years of hospitality/tourism training experience; safari industry experience is a plus.
• Recognised training/assessor/moderator certification.
• Strong knowledge of training and recruitment processes.
• Excellent planning and organisational abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Extensive experience supporting people who require guidance.
• Motivated, enthusiastic and empathetic team player.
