Node.js Backend Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Node.js Backend Engineer to design, develop, and maintain the backend services and APIs that power Cavista Technologies’ payment platform. The role focuses on building secure, scalable micro‑services for financial operations in a regulated fintech environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain backend services and RESTful APIs using Node.js and TypeScript.
• Integrate with core banking systems, switching networks and third‑party payment providers.
• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions and sprint planning.
• Implement secure coding practices following OWASP guidelines and conduct vulnerability assessments.
• Develop services for wallet management, transfers, collections, settlements and reconciliation, ensuring transaction integrity and audit trails.
• Collaborate with DevOps to improve system resilience, implement logging, observability and performance monitoring.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• 3–5 years of professional experience building backend applications, preferably in fintech or a regulated environment.
• Strong expertise in Node.js, TypeScript and RESTful API development.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, message queues and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Knowledge of secure coding practices (OWASP) and familiarity with containerization and CI/CD pipelines.
