Nutanix Engineer / Networking IT Support Engineer (Freelance – On‑Call)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Nutanix Engineer / Networking IT Support Engineer to join our team on a freelance, on‑call basis. The role involves providing Break & Fix support for enterprise infrastructure, both onsite and remotely, while delivering high‑quality customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver onsite and remote Break & Fix support for networking and infrastructure incidents.
• Deploy, configure, and manage Nutanix HCI environments (AOS, AHV, Prism).
• Perform system upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, virtualization, and network issues.
• Resolve network connectivity problems (TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching).
• Implement and support backup and disaster‑recovery solutions.
• Respond to critical incidents within agreed response times.
• Collaborate with global and regional teams on infrastructure and cloud projects.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation and incident reports.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in infrastructure, virtualization, networking, or IT support engineering.
• Valid CCNA certification with at least 90 % on the induction assessment.
• Fluent English communication skills, both spoken and written.
• Ability to work independently in customer‑facing environments.
• Professional demeanor and strong customer‑service orientation.

Required skills

• Nutanix ecosystem (AOS, AHV, Prism).
• VMware and/or Hyper‑V.
• Networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching.
• Backup and disaster‑recovery solutions.
• Scripting with PowerShell and/or Python.
• Optional: Nutanix Certification (NCP or higher), cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), automation tools (Ansible, Terraform).
