Part‑time On‑site Welder

About the role

Ubantu Rentals & Sellers is seeking a part‑time, on‑site Welder to join its workshop in Lobatse. You will be responsible for fabricating, assembling and repairing a range of equipment including trailers, water bowsers, generator frames and farm machinery.

Key responsibilities

• Fabricate, assemble and repair metal structures such as trailers, water bowsers, generator frames and agricultural equipment.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, take measurements and cut materials to specification.
• Prepare joints and perform arc, MIG and TIG welding as required.
• Inspect welds for quality, make adjustments, grind and finish surfaces.
• Maintain welding tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working order.
• Follow all workplace safety procedures and use appropriate PPE.
• Collaborate with the workshop team to meet production timelines and customer requirements.

Required profile

• Strong welding background with experience in arc, MIG and TIG processes.
• Solid understanding of different metals and their properties.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings accurately.
• Commitment to safety standards and proper PPE usage.
• Relevant welding certification, trade test or vocational training preferred.
• Reliable, detail‑oriented and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
