Remote Environment Medic

About the role

PRKS is looking for a Remote Environment Medic to deliver emergency medical response across remote tourism and conservation sites in Botswana. The role involves providing on‑site assessment, stabilisation and coordination of medical incidents where definitive care may be delayed.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct emergency medical assessments for illness, injury, trauma, environmental exposure and wildlife‑related incidents.
• Provide authorised emergency care and stabilise patients within scope of practice.
• Coordinate communications, incident escalation and support ground or air evacuations.
• Maintain medical equipment, medication stocks and ensure readiness for emergencies.
• Monitor health risks, report emerging medical concerns and keep accurate, confidential records.

Required profile

• Current registration with the relevant professional regulatory body.
• Qualification in Emergency Medical Care, Pre‑Hospital Emergency Care, Paramedicine or equivalent.
• Experience in remote, wilderness, tourism, conservation, mining, industrial or expedition environments.
• Strong emergency assessment, trauma management and patient stabilisation abilities.
• Excellent communication, documentation and decision‑making skills.
• High professionalism, resilience, adaptability and accountability.
