Risk and Compliance Officer – Botswana

About the role

The Risk and Compliance Officer will support Andersen Tax’s internal Risk and Compliance Section across its Botswana offices. The role ensures regulatory compliance, protects client trust and promotes a compliance‑focused culture.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with daily risk and compliance operations across all office locations.
• Implement and enforce Andersen’s compliance policies and procedures.
• Monitor regulatory changes in Botswana and Southern Africa and advise leadership.
• Support internal audits and risk assessments, identifying gaps and recommending improvements.
• Help migrate KYC data to an online platform and collect client KYC information.
• Support training and awareness initiatives for staff on compliance standards.
• Collaborate with Section RICs and NRICs to integrate compliance processes.
• Prepare compliance reports for leadership and external regulators.
• Ensure data protection and privacy standards are maintained.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a Risk and Compliance function within a professional services firm (accounting, legal, tax or consulting).
• Strong knowledge of Botswana and Southern African regulatory frameworks.
• Proven ability to assist with audits, risk assessments and compliance reviews.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• Experience with Data Cloud Risk and Compliance Software.
