Sales & Marketing Manager – Microinsurance

About the role

Alpha Direct is seeking an energetic, results‑driven Sales & Marketing Manager to lead the growth of its microinsurance portfolio in Botswana. You will own gross written premium (GWP) targets, drive distribution through multiple channels, and ensure compliance with NBFIRA regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Set and achieve annual GWP targets across all microinsurance lines.
• Implement sales‑efficiency initiatives, including rollout of sales‑force automation and CRM tools.
• Develop and execute integrated marketing strategies (above‑the‑line, digital, below‑the‑line) to boost brand awareness and acquisition.
• Lead business‑strategy development and translate it into actionable sales plans.
• Manage relationships with NBFIRA on market conduct, consumer protection, and regulatory reporting.
• Oversee customer complaint handling, aiming to minimise regulatory actions.
• Monitor sales performance metrics, budget, and customer retention ratios.
• Identify growth opportunities in underserved market segments and support new product launches.
• Provide training and coaching to sales agents, broker partners, and agency staff.

Required profile

• Proven experience in sales and marketing leadership within insurance or financial services.
• Strong understanding of microinsurance distribution channels and regulatory environment in Botswana.
• Demonstrated ability to meet revenue targets and manage departmental budgets.
• Excellent communication skills for internal teams and external regulators.
