Site Supervisor – Underground Tooling Maintenance

About the role

Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions is seeking a Site Supervisor to lead the GET (Ground Engaging Tools) underground tooling service at its Toteng site. The role focuses on delivering cost‑effective care and maintenance of rock tools for internal and external clients, ensuring safety, reliability and compliance with OEM specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prioritize and schedule the onsite team’s activities to meet work targets and resource efficiency.
• Manage stock availability, customer relations and cost‑effectiveness of the service.
• Capture equipment changes, oversee refurbishment of tooling to extend bit life, and record deviations.
• Conduct safety meetings, investigate equipment damage and produce technical reports.
• Perform equipment inspections and advise customers on critical maintenance interventions.
• Assist the Area Manager with rock‑tools forecasting to avoid supply deficits.

Required profile

• Diploma in Mining or equivalent qualification.
• Valid Class B driver’s licence.
• Minimum 2 years of supervisory/management experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in rock‑tools management, preferably in underground mining.
• Certificate of competence in GET care & maintenance.
• Full physical and medical clearance for mining work.
• Good knowledge of the Botswana Mines Quarries and Machinery Act.
