Wardhostess – Patient Food Service (Botswana)

About the role

The Wardhostess ensures that patients receive timely and appropriate refreshments throughout their stay. Working within a hospital environment, you will support the dietary team by managing meal distribution and maintaining high standards of hygiene and service.

Key responsibilities

• Provide patients with water, tea, coffee and snacks as required.
• Complete and return menu cards promptly after each service.
• Update diet lists before meals and report any changes immediately.
• Transport meal trolleys efficiently to and from patient wards.
• Verify that all trays are complete before serving and remove them promptly after meals.
• Clean, control and securely store cutlery and related equipment.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, appearance and patient service throughout the shift.

Required profile

• Botswana General Certificate of Secondary Education (BGCSE) or equivalent experience.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
• Motivated, able to operate with minimal supervision and adapt to a pressurised environment.
• Professional, well‑presented appearance.

Required skills

• Knowledge of ATS Fedics Services hygiene & quality standards.
