Youth Project Coordinator

About the role

The Youth Project Coordinator will be based in Gaborone, Botswana, supporting UNICEF’s Skilling and Employability Training Programme. The role provides day‑to‑day coordination and technical assistance for virtual training delivery and oversees a network of youth volunteers.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate implementation of the Skilling and Employability Training Programme, ensuring quality delivery and target achievement.
• Supervise, mentor and support 50 Ready To Work (RTW) Champions delivering virtual employability training.
• Work closely with ABSA Botswana and other partners on meetings, reporting and operational planning.
• Monitor programme performance, budgets, risks and progress, supporting adaptive management.
• Oversee volunteer wellbeing, training quality, scheduling and coaching.
• Track enrolment, completion rates and promote equitable participation, including youth with disabilities and NEET youth.
• Support monitoring, evaluation, learning, data management and documentation of lessons learned.
• Contribute to adolescent HIV programming, Generation Unlimited activities and broader youth development initiatives.

Required profile

• Minimum three years of professional experience in project coordination, youth programming, skills development or volunteer management.
• Experience in programme implementation, partnership coordination and monitoring & evaluation.
• Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Public Health, Education, Business Administration or a related field.
• Fluent English; knowledge of Setswana is an asset.
