About the role
Wild Africa is seeking a Media Consultant to act as its on‑the‑ground representative in Botswana. You will build and maintain partnerships with media outlets, government bodies, NGOs and high‑profile ambassadors to support the organisation’s conservation campaigns.
Key responsibilities
- Research, identify and cultivate relationships with TV, radio, newspaper, billboard, PR and social‑media companies.
- Connect with local ambassadors from music, sport, film, TV, business, religion and government.
- Engage with relevant government ministries and agencies.
- Coordinate logistics for filming, productions and campaign activities across Botswana.
- Support the launch and implementation of local conservation campaigns.
- Assist with Setswana translations when required.
- Represent Wild Africa in media appearances and stakeholder meetings.
- Collaborate closely with Wild Africa’s production and programme teams.
Required profile
- Highly organised, proactive and adaptable with a passion for conservation.
- Strong relationship‑building and communication abilities.
- Entrepreneurial mindset and comfort working in a fast‑paced environment.
- Experience in media, communications, partnerships or conservation is beneficial.
- Willingness to travel periodically within Botswana and the region on short notice.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and solve problems with urgency.
