Audit Assistant Manager

About the role

Join EY’s Audit team in Botswana as an Audit Assistant Manager, where you will lead audit engagements, mentor junior staff, and deliver high‑quality assurance services to clients. You will work in a collaborative environment that values continuous learning and professional growth.

Key responsibilities

• Lead fieldwork, manage performance, coach and mentor junior team members, and keep engagement leaders updated.
• Manage audit processes, addressing audit risk issues and complex accounting matters such as revenue, financial instruments, and income taxes.
• Engage with clients, provide professional advice, and identify opportunities for improving business processes.
• Stay current on market trends and share knowledge to develop junior colleagues.
• Understand client ambitions and refer them to appropriate teams to broaden business relationships.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering external audit and assurance engagements.
• Experience leading planning, execution, and reporting of audits.
• Track record of developing and maintaining client relationships.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and collaborative management skills.
• Degree in Accounting, BICA/ACCA qualified, registered member of BICA.
• 4‑5 years of experience in a public accounting firm.
• Strong project management and leadership abilities.

Required skills

• Expertise in IFRS accounting framework and related financial reporting matters.
