Chartered Accountant

About the role

The Wentzel Group of Companies is seeking a Chartered Accountant to lead financial reporting across its diversified portfolio. This full‑time, on‑site position in Gaborone will support multiple entities in retail, hospitality, fuel and security sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts, annual financial statements and consolidate results where required.
• Drive budgeting, forecasting, cash‑flow management and variance analysis to aid strategic decisions.
• Maintain accurate general ledgers, review reconciliations and monitor internal controls.
• Liaise with external auditors, tax authorities and other regulatory bodies to ensure compliance.

Required profile

• Recognised Chartered Accountant qualification (CA) with strong knowledge of IFRS.
• Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow management for multi‑entity groups.
• Hands‑on experience with tax compliance, statutory filings and auditor liaison.
• Ability to implement and monitor internal controls and support risk management.
• Effective communication skills to explain financial information to non‑finance colleagues.

• Advanced use of ERP/accounting software.
• Strong MS Excel and data‑analysis capabilities.
