Clerk of Works – Construction Quality Assurance

About the role

The Clerk of Works will ensure that construction work meets the client’s quality, safety and regulatory requirements. Working on‑site, you will inspect workmanship, monitor compliance and report any issues to the project management team.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect materials, workmanship and construction processes against specifications and standards.
• Verify that all activities comply with relevant codes, regulations and client guidelines.
• Maintain daily records, progress reports and issue logs.
• Liaise with contractors, subcontractors, architects and engineers to communicate requirements and coordinate activities.
• Identify discrepancies, raise corrective actions and follow up on resolutions.
• Monitor progress, flag delays and report on milestones.
• Enforce health, safety and environmental safeguards on the site.
• Coordinate testing and inspections of materials, structures and installations.
• Document defects or incomplete work (snags) and ensure rectification before handover.
• Assist in the final handover by confirming completion to specifications and preparing required documentation.

Required profile

• Diploma in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the mining or construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of site practices, building and construction technology.
