About the role
The Landscape Manager will lead the implementation of the Green Climate Fund‑funded Ecosystem‑Based Adaptation and Mitigation project in Bobonong, Botswana. Reporting to the Deputy Chief of Party, you will provide technical expertise, supervise field staff, and ensure project outcomes align with Conservation International’s conservation and human development goals.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate day‑to‑day GCF activities across the project’s three areas, ensuring alignment with ministries, regional staff, and implementation partners.
- Develop and implement adaptation and mitigation strategies for climate‑resilient rangeland management.
- Build and manage a gender‑sensitive Rangeland Stewardship Forum to coordinate civil society and private sector actions.
- Oversee monitoring, reporting, and capacity‑building activities for 104 villages covering 4.6 million hectares.
- Maintain compliance with Conservation International policies, GCF funding agreements, and local regulations.
- Foster partnerships with district governments, Village Development Committees, NGOs, CBOs, and private companies.
Required profile
- Proven leadership and project‑management experience in landscape or rangeland programs.
- Strong understanding of climate adaptation, mitigation, and ecosystem‑based approaches.
- Experience working with diverse stakeholders, including government, NGOs, and community groups.
- Ability to manage field teams and ensure compliance with donor requirements.
