Maintenance Superintendent – LHD, Drilling & Haulage Equipment

About the role

The client is seeking two Maintenance Superintendents to lead the upkeep of underground mining equipment at a mine site in Botswana. The role focuses on maximizing equipment availability and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance and reliability of LHD, drilling and haulage equipment.
• Manage maintenance teams and implement preventive maintenance programmes.
• Optimize asset performance and control maintenance costs.
• Monitor equipment performance and ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.

Required profile

• College diploma in Electromechanical Engineering, Mining Machinery or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years’ experience in underground mine equipment maintenance management.
• Proven leadership and team‑management experience in a mining environment.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of LHD (Load‑Haul‑Dump) equipment maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of drilling equipment maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of haulage equipment maintenance.
• Experience with full‑lifecycle equipment management including planning, repair, performance monitoring and asset optimisation.
