About the role
The Project & Maintenance Engineer – B2B, Retail and Terminals is responsible for planning, executing and supporting maintenance and construction activities for fuel infrastructure serving commercial and industrial customers across African operating environments.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and execute preventive and corrective maintenance for retail, B2B and terminal fuel assets, including ground fuel sites and LPG facilities.
- Provide technical support for breakdown response, fault diagnosis and permanent repair solutions.
- Deliver construction, installation and upgrade projects for new customer sites, capacity expansions and system modifications.
- Prepare scopes of work, technical specifications, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), cost estimates and schedules.
- Supervise contractors to ensure safe, on‑time, on‑budget delivery to specification.
- Support commissioning, testing and hand‑over of projects to customers and operations.
- Ensure compliance with HSE, petroleum, LPG and environmental regulations; participate in risk assessments and permit‑to‑work systems.
- Support inspection, testing and certification of tanks, pressure vessels and piping, and verify construction quality.
- Coordinate specialist service providers and conduct quarterly contractor performance reviews.
- Track maintenance and project costs against budgets and identify value‑engineering opportunities.
- Act as technical interface with customers and assist commercial teams with proposal inputs.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or Petroleum Engineering.
- Experience in maintenance engineering, project delivery and HSE compliance within fuel or related industrial environments.
