Safety Coordinator – Construction Projects

About the role

The Safety Coordinator ensures a safe, compliant, and proactive work environment across all construction sites for a leading electrical contractor in the Southeast. This role supports leadership in fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct daily site safety inspections and document findings.
• Prepare and distribute weekly safety audits with corrective actions.
• Support investigations of incidents, injuries, and near‑misses.
• Verify proper PPE, first‑aid kits, and safety equipment are available on each project.
• Lead company‑wide safety initiatives and training programs.
• Deliver in‑house training on fall protection, MEWP operation, heat stress, and tool safety.
• Maintain project safety documentation, including site‑specific plans, OSHA logs, and training records.
• Represent the company at client and general contractor safety meetings.
• Partner with project managers to ensure compliance with OSHA, ANSI, and internal standards.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years experience as a Safety Coordinator on major construction projects.
• OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR/AED, and NFPA 70E qualifications (required).
• OSHA 510 certification (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1926/1910, ANSI, and NFPA 70E.
• Excellent communication, organization, and presentation abilities.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
