Stakeholder & China Relations Advisor

About the role

This position supports the Senior Advisor Stakeholder & China Relations in executing MMG’s Chinese Champion strategy. The role focuses on daily liaison with Chinese shareholders, diplomatic missions, and other China‑linked stakeholders while ensuring accurate translation and documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the operational link between KCM and major shareholders (CMC, CMN, CNIC), synchronising information and drafting promotional and reporting materials.
• Assist with senior delegation visits, handling agenda creation, venue logistics, cross‑department coordination and minute taking.
• Maintain routine communication with the Chinese Embassy in Botswana, Botswana Embassy in Beijing, Chinese Enterprises Association and related entities, updating contact records and stakeholder archives.
• Prepare briefing packs, logistics checklists and meeting records for China‑related executive trips and high‑level engagements.
• Provide English‑Chinese translation for operational reports, corporate documents and internal circulars, and deliver on‑site interpretation for leadership meetings and site tours.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Translation, Journalism, International Relations, Business Administration, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum three years of experience in international relations, stakeholder engagement or related disciplines.
• Demonstrated experience drafting official Chinese documents, reports, speeches and publicity manuscripts.
• Experience working with Chinese enterprises, government bodies or state‑owned entities is a strong advantage.
• Overseas study, living or working experience preferred; mining‑industry administrative experience considered a plus.
