Draughtsman – CAD Technical Drawing Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a skilled Draughtsman to create and revise technical drawings using CAD software. The role involves translating engineering concepts into detailed plans, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and supporting the design team throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers and architects to gather product and structural requirements.
• Calculate dimensions, weight limits and material specifications.
• Produce detailed designs and layout diagrams using CAD tools such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
• Prepare and review rough sketches, identify potential operational issues and propose redesigns.
• Perform quality checks to ensure final drawings meet regulatory and quality standards.
• Maintain and organise drawing files, and create manuals describing product operation and maintenance.
• Occasionally visit sites to take measurements and verify design feasibility.

Required profile

• Degree or diploma in drafting, engineering or a related discipline.
• Proven experience as a Draughtsman or in a similar drafting role.
• Strong understanding of engineering principles and construction methods.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• Driver’s licence and valid First Aid & CPR certification.
