External Quality Assessor – Hospitality & Catering (City & Guilds)

About the role

City & Guilds is seeking External Quality Assessors (EQAs) with hospitality and catering expertise to carry out and document quality‑assurance activities in line with its qualification standards and regulatory requirements. This flexible, daily‑rate role allows you to work alongside your current position while expanding your professional skills.

Key responsibilities

• Support assigned centres by providing industry‑specific QA expertise.
• Maintain effective relationships with centres and the City & Guilds office.
• Plan, monitor and record QA activities to meet qualification requirements.
• Travel to centres as needed to conduct assessments and provide feedback.
• Deliver concise, supportive feedback to learners, assessors and delivery staff.

Required profile

• Current, credible experience working with Hospitality & Catering qualifications.
• Hold or be working towards an appropriate assessor qualification (e.g., D32/D33, A1/A2, TAQA Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement, or equivalent).
• Experience in a regulated assessment environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness and ability to travel for assessment activities.

• Ability to provide clear, constructive feedback.
• Strong documentation and reporting capabilities.
