Finance Analyst

About the role

British American Tobacco Botswana is seeking a Finance Analyst to support sustainable profit growth through robust financial analysis and disciplined finance operations. The role will manage day‑to‑day finance transactions, maintain a strong control environment, and drive improvements in financial discipline.

Key responsibilities

• Manage external stakeholder relationships, including banking partners, BURS and external auditors.
• Oversee credit management for distributors and support payment processes.
• Review and maintain balance‑sheet hygiene, including global open items, KPI and bank clearing.
• Prepare annual financial statements and assist with group and statutory audits.
• Process monthly accounting entries, including IFRS 16 related entries.
• Create and maintain fixed‑asset register for corporate functions.
• Manage inventory and prepare monthly cash‑flow forecasts.
• Support ad‑hoc global projects and master‑data user maintenance.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Commerce in Financial Accounting/Reporting.
• 2–3 years of experience in a corporate accounting environment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to work with all staff levels.
• Proactive, creative and able to improve systems, controls and processes.
• Capable of handling large volumes of information under tight deadlines.
