Finance & Contracts Manager

About the role

The Finance & Contracts Manager will lead financial management, reporting, budgeting, and grant‑contract administration for the Ecosystem‑Based Adaptation and Mitigation project and the CI Botswana Country Programme. Based in Gaborone, the role ensures compliance with donor guidelines and CI policies while supporting effective project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and generate monthly, quarterly and periodic financial reports; review results with senior project management.
• Ensure compliance with CI and donor financial reporting standards and review financial transactions for accuracy.
• Prepare donor statements and reports for project management review before external release.
• Respond to ad‑hoc financial and grants‑related analysis requests.
• Coordinate the annual budget process, provide training, generate budget‑vs‑actual comparisons, conduct trend analysis and update projections.
• Approve procurement and budget expenditure requests within authorized limits.
• Develop and manage grant and contract documentation, ensuring completeness and adherence to CI and donor policies.
• Act as primary contact for cost‑center managers, partners and donors regarding financial and contractual processes.

Required profile

• Proven experience in financial management, budgeting and grant/contract administration within donor‑funded projects.
• Strong knowledge of donor compliance requirements and CI financial policies.
• Ability to produce accurate financial reports and perform detailed financial analysis.
• Excellent coordination skills to work with project teams, partners and donors.
