Risk Manager – Loss Prevention & Compliance

About the role

The Risk Manager is responsible for protecting the organisation from financial loss, safety incidents, and compliance breaches. This role focuses on loss prevention, health and safety compliance, and the development of robust risk management processes across stores and warehouses.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and maintain systems ensuring HR administration and store operations comply with company policies and legislative requirements.
• Develop methodologies to identify and analyse the financial impact of loss to the organisation, employees, the public and the environment.
• Prepare risk management and insurance budgets, allocate claim costs and premiums, and maintain records of policies, claims and loss experience.
• Assist in reviewing major contracts, facilities and new program activities for loss and insurance implications.
• Conduct quarterly risk assessments in all stores/warehouses, identify exposure areas and implement corrective measures.
• Provide recommendations to prevent internal and external criminal activity, including cash handling theft, stock rollovers, shoplifting, vandalism and robbery.
• Lead investigations of criminal activities, compile reports, and utilise tools such as polygraph and interviews to resolve cases.
• Coach managers on risk‑related corrective actions, report discrepancies and recommend improvements.
• Liaise regularly with the Masscash Risk Management team, store operations and legal teams.

Required profile

• BGCSE or equivalent.
• Relevant tertiary education in Administration, Finance or a related field.
• Experience in risk management, loss prevention or compliance within a retail environment.
• Strong analytical abilities to assess financial impact of loss and develop mitigation strategies.
