Seminary & Institute Coordinator

About the role

The coordinator patterns their leadership after the example of Jesus Christ, strengthens those they lead, and effectively administers Seminary and Institute (S&I) programs in an assigned geographic area. This people‑manager position requires a strong background in learning, teaching, training, communication, resource management, and personal development.

Key responsibilities

• Set goals, create plans, and implement initiatives to increase youth and young adult participation in seminary and institute.
• Improve learning experiences and assess student outcomes for all participants, including those with disabilities.
• Build capability of stake‑called teachers through monthly discussions, micro‑training, in‑service sessions, and feedback.
• Prepare and oversee the annual program operating budget, ensuring financial performance and safeguarding church assets.
• Adapt S&I curriculum and provide pacing guides tailored to local needs.
• Supervise full‑time, part‑time, and volunteer staff, partnering with HR on hiring and promotion decisions.

Required profile

• Must hold a current/valid Temple Recommend and exemplify Church teachings on marriage and family life.
• Strong personal testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and commitment to the spiritual growth of youth and young single adults.
• Preferred master’s degree; recognized bachelor’s degree (preferably in education) with at least five years of classroom teaching experience and management experience.
• Mid‑level interpersonal communication skills, including active listening, negotiation, decision‑making, and conflict resolution.
