Slurry Truck Operator

About the role

The Slurry Truck Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining specialised equipment used to apply slurry seal on road surfaces. This role combines hands‑on equipment handling with a strong focus on safety, quality workmanship and road preparation.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and maintain slurry seal equipment, including trucks, spreader boxes and related asphalt maintenance tools.
• Calibrate equipment to ensure accurate, uniform application of slurry seal.
• Monitor material flow, application rates and surface consistency during each job.
• Prepare road surfaces by cleaning, removing debris and ensuring proper adhesion.
• Mix, load and apply slurry seal according to job specifications.
• Perform routine maintenance, minor repairs and troubleshoot equipment issues on‑site.
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain detailed records of materials, equipment usage and project progress.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years experience operating slurry seal trucks or similar road‑construction equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with proven troubleshooting and minor‑repair skills.
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Valid, clean driver’s licence.
• Willingness to work in Botswana; visa assistance, accommodation and transport are provided.
