Store Buyer – Retail Procurement Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a Store Buyer to manage product selection, promotions and supplier relationships for our retail operation. The role ensures the right range is available, supports sales targets and maintains profitability while adhering to safety and compliance standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute the annual national promotional calendar and supplier‑specific promo grids.
• Negotiate monthly supplier activities in line with promotional plans and sales targets.
• Reconcile sales data, support invoicing, and monitor member‑claims profitability.
• Control shrinkage, enforce safety regulations and report any unsafe conditions.
• Maintain high‑frequency supplier contact, manage performance, and focus growth on the top 30 suppliers.
• Decide on product range, conduct quarterly reviews, and coordinate new listings, discontinuations and merchandising.
• Identify business opportunities with new suppliers and ensure ethical, anti‑corruption compliance.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary education in Administration, Marketing, Finance or a related field.
• 7‑10 years of experience in a fast‑moving consumer goods (FMCG) environment.
• Strong analytical mindset with a focus on profitability and range optimisation.

Required skills

• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Familiarity with the ARCH system (advantage).
