Tailor (Full‑time, On‑site)

About the role

The Tailor will work full‑time on‑site at North Legacy Inc in Gaborone, constructing, altering and repairing garments for customers. This position blends precise garment making with direct client interaction to ensure fit, comfort and style while upholding the company’s reputation for quality craftsmanship.

Key responsibilities

• Measure clients, conduct fittings and adjust patterns to achieve the desired drape and comfort.
• Cut, sew and finish fabrics, creating new garments and modifying existing pieces according to client requests.
• Perform detailed alterations, repairs and style adjustments while maintaining high standards of workmanship.
• Provide expert advice on fabric choices, fit and design options during client consultations.
• Keep the work area organized, manage basic inventory of materials and ensure timely completion of all orders.

Required profile

• Strong tailoring and dressmaking experience with a proven ability to construct, alter and finish garments to a high standard.
• Excellent customer‑service and communication skills for direct client interaction.
• Reliability in meeting deadlines, strong attention to detail and good time‑management.
• Basic numeracy for measurements and pattern adjustments; formal training in tailoring or fashion design is a plus.
