Commercial Manager – Infrastructure Projects

About the role

The company is seeking a Commercial Manager to lead the financial performance and contractual integrity of major infrastructure projects based in Gaborone, Botswana. The role will ensure that large‑scale civil engineering and construction contracts are delivered on time, within budget and in compliance with international standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee financial performance and cash‑flow optimisation for infrastructure projects.
• Manage contractual compliance under FIDIC and NEC3/4 frameworks.
• Lead claims management, cost control and contract reconciliation activities.
• Coordinate procurement, subcontractor management and contract administration.
• Provide commercial advice to project teams and senior management.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years experience in civil engineering and construction.
• At least 7 years in a Commercial Manager role for a large‑scale contractor.
• BSc or BTech in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management.
• Professional registration as Pr.QS.
• Post‑graduate qualifications and experience on AfDB, World Bank or EIB donor‑funded projects are a plus.
