Junior Exploration Geologist

About the role

Orano Mining is launching a new exploration subsidiary in western Botswana and seeks a Junior Exploration Geologist to support greenfield projects. You will work on‑site in a remote camp, handling core logging, sampling and geological data collection to help define exploration targets and future resources.

Key responsibilities

• Log drill core and RC/DC chips, assist with drill rig supervision and sample handling.
• Conduct geological mapping, record structural and lithological data, and support soil and rock sampling programmes.
• Capture, verify and enter geological data into databases and spreadsheets; update plans, sections and logs.
• Prepare daily and weekly exploration reports and assist with borehole geophysical data validation.
• Follow HSE policies, participate in safety meetings and report hazards promptly.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Geology, Earth Sciences or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in exploration or mining geology.
• Experience with core logging, basic geological mapping and sampling techniques.
• Understanding of QA/QC principles; remote‑camp experience is a plus.
• Basic knowledge of GIS or geological software.
