Landscape Manager – Bobirwa Project

About the role

Conservation International is seeking a Landscape Manager to lead the implementation of the GCF‑funded Ecosystem‑Based Adaptation and Mitigation project in the Bobirwa sub‑district of Botswana. Based in Bobonong, the role provides technical leadership, coordination and oversight of field activities across 104 villages, ensuring project outcomes align with climate‑resilience and conservation goals.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate day‑to‑day implementation of GCF activities within the project governance structure, liaising with ministries, regional staff and implementation partners.
• Develop and execute program and conservation strategies for climate change adaptation and mitigation.
• Provide technical oversight, monitoring and capacity‑building for field staff and community partners.
• Build and manage a gender‑sensitive Rangeland Stewardship Forum to coordinate civil society and private sector engagement.
• Ensure compliance with Conservation International policies, GCF funding agreements and local regulations.
• Represent Conservation International in stakeholder meetings with district authorities, Village Development Committees, NGOs and the private sector.

Required profile

• Proven experience in landscape or rangeland management, preferably in a conservation or climate‑adaptation context.
• Strong leadership and team‑management abilities.
• Excellent communication skills for engaging diverse stakeholders, including government, NGOs and community groups.
• Ability to work onsite in remote field settings and travel frequently within the project area.
