Relationship Manager – Financial Institutions

About the role

The Relationship Manager will lead the Financial Institutions portfolio, shaping sector strategy and delivering integrated Corporate & Investment Banking solutions. This senior position focuses on driving sustainable revenue growth while managing strategic client relationships and risk oversight.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the Financial Institutions sector strategy aligned with bank objectives.
• Grow the portfolio through client acquisition, wallet‑share expansion, and disciplined portfolio management.
• Provide market intelligence on banking, insurance, asset management, pension funds, and development finance institutions.
• Represent the bank at industry forums and position it as a trusted partner.
• Lead relationship management, acting as senior escalation point for significant client matters.
• Originate, structure, and execute opportunities across lending, transactional banking, treasury, capital markets, advisory, and investment banking.
• Coordinate product specialists to deliver integrated solutions and achieve cross‑sell targets.
• Monitor portfolio performance against financial and strategic targets.
• Lead, coach, and develop a high‑performing team of Lead Banker and Relationship Analyst.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, risk frameworks, and internal governance.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing a portfolio of financial institution clients.
• Strong understanding of corporate and investment banking products and services.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and execute sector strategies.
• Excellent relationship‑building skills with senior decision‑makers.
• Leadership experience in coaching and developing teams.
• Solid knowledge of risk, governance, and compliance standards in banking.
