Senior Supply Chain Technical Advisor

About the role

The Senior Supply Chain Technical Advisor is a U.S. Government‑funded position seconded to Botswana’s Transition Management Unit. The Advisor will work closely with the Ministry of Health, NAHPA, CMS and the Ministry of Local Government and Traditional Affairs to strengthen national healthcare supply‑chain systems and support life‑saving humanitarian assistance.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑level technical guidance to Botswana ministries on planning, financing, managing and sustaining healthcare commodities.
• Embed technical expertise within the TMU to improve efficiency, accountability and transparency of medicines and medical supplies delivery.
• Support implementation of Botswana’s supply‑chain strategies for HIV service delivery and overall health system resilience.
• Coordinate with the U.S. Department of State foreign‑assistance team to align investments with U.S. global health policy.
• Assist in developing and monitoring supply‑chain performance indicators and reporting mechanisms.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional with extensive experience in health‑sector supply‑chain management.
• Proven ability to work within government environments and multi‑stakeholder settings.
• Strong understanding of U.S. Government health assistance frameworks and memoranda of understanding.
